From the outset, our goal was to design an effective, fresh and luxurious shampoo that delivered on dandruff control as much as it did scent, texture and touch.

We engaged one of Australia’s top GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certified chemists to produce a cruelty and toxic-free formula that was revised nine times before we arrived at our final product.

Originally, we tested only natural ingredients but they simply were not effective in reducing dandruff. After comparing research on the efficacy (effectiveness) and benefits of synthetic antifungal ingredients; namely, Piroctone Olamine and Ketoconazole, we settled on the superior Piroctone Olamine. 

PO was found to be more effective in reducing the amount of dandruff and, at the same time, provided hair conditioning advantages. In a controlled clinical trial of hair shedding and thinning associated with dandruff, the study concluded that 1% Piroctone Olamine saw improvement in their hair shaft diameter by 7.7%, compared to 1% Ketoconazole (5.4%) and actively decreased sebum production, while reducing hair fall by 16.5%. 

We tested Piroctone Olamine with Zinc Gluconate and acheived amazing results in just six weeks, following which we introduced a range of moisturisers, stablisiers, extracts, and oils, noting changes in colour, smell, viscosity, lather, scalp invigoration and, of course, effectiveness. 

With 2-in-1 products lacking the ability to perform either role sufficiently we also designed a conditioner to restore moisture following our shampoo. The formula is complementary to the shampoo, carrying across the same scent and essential oils but replaces active ingredients with oils, butters and proteins designed to reinvigorate the hair and scalp.

PIROCTONE OLAMINE – Safe active ingredient Piroctone Olamine is a widely established cosmetics preservative regarded for its anti-fungal benefits. It is proven to be effective at controlling microorganisms responsible for flaking and irritation, reducing dandruff and scalp itch. MANDARIN EO – Known to be one of the most calming essential oils, Mandarin EO has the ability to reduce irritated skin by preventing bacterial and fungal development. It also boasts circulatory benefits while cleansing oily hair, improving volume and bounce, as well as creating enviable shine.

CEDARWOOD EO – Cedarwood oil possesses anti-fungal, anti-microbal and anti-inflammatory properties to treat and soothe scalp conditions while aiding scalp circulation, and promoting hair regrowth.
